Megan Petersen, M.A.


Megan completed a master’s degree in mental health counseling at the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling where she received the Excellence in Clinical Skills Award. Post-graduation, Megan completed training to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and training in disordered eating. She is currently completing her clinical hours toward her New York State Mental Health Counseling License.

Megan believes in forming a collaborative relationship to support clients in discovering their strengths and overcoming obstacles. She has experience counseling adult clients with depression, anxiety, relationship and familial issues, as well as survivors of abuse and other traumas. Megan previously provided applied behavioral analysis for children with autism spectrum disorders as a Registered Behavioral Technician.

She has lived in New York since 2005, but was born and raised in Nebraska. Megan currently serves as a song leader on the Worship Team at Redeemer West Side and has also served congregants as a member of the Diaconate. She enjoys all the arts, trying new restaurants, exploring different neighborhoods, meeting new people, hiking, running, swimming, paddle-boarding, and quality time with loved ones.
