Loneliness is one of the most commonly felt, but undiscussed experiences affecting the modern individual. Dr. Vivek Murthy, the former Surgeon General, attributes this to shame and stigma around admitting that we feel lonely. He defines loneliness as “the gap between the connections people need, and the ones they have.” It may be counterintuitive to discover that it is possible to feel lonely while surrounded by people, and to feel content while being alone. In this group, we will explore ways to connect meaningfully to others and ourselves. The group will focus on how to:

  • find ways to feel supported
  • learn how to develop resilience to stress
  • identify and regulate emotions
  • grow in our faith as we address our needs
